Crossmark and Scholarly Record Integrity Policy

Commitment to Academic Integrity
CITA INSIGHT: Journal of Counseling and Educational Dynamic recognizes the importance of integrity, completeness, and timeliness of scholarly records for researchers, educators, and practitioners of guidance and counseling. Published articles form the basis for the development of theory and clinical practice. Therefore, CITA INSIGHT participates in the Crossmark initiative by Crossref as a form of transparency and moral responsibility of publishers in safeguarding the actual status of each published manuscript.

Crossmark Mechanism and Function
The Crossmark logo will be embedded in every article, both in the web version (HTML) and downloadable files (PDF). By clicking on the logo, readers will be automatically directed to the latest metadata information to verify whether the document they are reading is the latest valid version, or whether the document has been updated, corrected, or retracted.

Classification of Manuscript Update Status
CITA INSIGHT will only modify published articles (post-publication) under exceptional circumstances. The update status is divided into four main categories based on international publication ethics standards:

  • Erratum (Publisher's Correction): Published when there are significant technical or layout errors made by the CITA INSIGHT editorial team (e.g., incorrect author names or misplaced tables) that could potentially affect the reader's interpretation, without changing the scientific findings of the manuscript.
  • Corrigendum (Author Correction): Published when authors discover minor methodological or statistical calculation errors in their manuscripts that do not invalidate the main conclusions of the research.
  • Expression of Concern: Published as a temporary warning to readers if the editorial team receives credible reports of alleged large-scale research ethics violations (such as data fabrication or plagiarism) that are under thorough investigation but have not yet reached a final conclusion.
  • Retraction: The most decisive action in the form of revoking the validity of a manuscript. Retraction is carried out if empirical evidence shows that the conclusions of the article are fatally flawed, or if there are serious ethical violations, including fabrication of counseling data, artificial manipulation of results, unauthorized use of names, or systematic compromise of client confidentiality (Bauchner, Steinbrook, & Redberg, 2025).

Article Retraction Procedure (Retraction Mechanism)
Considering that the history of science cannot be unilaterally erased, CITA INSIGHT stipulates that retracted manuscripts will not be physically removed from the journal database. Instead:

  • The original PDF file will be retained but overlaid with a transparent watermark that reads “RETRACTED” on each page.
  • The article page will be digitally hyperlinked to a publicly uploaded Retraction Notice, explaining in detail and objectively the reasons why the manuscript was retracted and which party requested the retraction.
