Focus and Scope

CITANO ISLAMICUS: Journal of Islamic Education is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to publishing original empirical research, systematic literature reviews, and critical conceptual studies in the field of Islamic education. This journal aims to serve as the primary forum for discourse among researchers, academics, and education practitioners to disseminate theoretical and practical innovations that are adaptable to contemporary social, cultural, and technological dynamics.

Main Focus
The journal’s publication focus centers on multidisciplinary investigations of the Islamic education ecosystem. This journal does not accept articles on purely Islamic studies (such as exegesis, hadith, or Islamic law) unless such studies are explicitly integrated into and make a direct contribution to the formulation of the philosophy, policy, curriculum, or learning practices of Islamic education.

Scope
To maintain its academic specialization, the scope of this journal’s publications is focused on the following clusters:

  1. Islamic Educational Philosophy and Policy: Examining the thought of key figures, history, epistemology, and critical analysis of institutional policies in Islamic education.
  2. Curriculum, Instructional Innovation, and Methodology: Examining instructional design, the integration of educational technology, curriculum development, and the methodology of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) at various levels.
  3. Islamic Educational Psychology and Counseling: Exploring psychological approaches to learning, student development, and guidance and counseling management integrated with Islamic values within educational institutions.
  4. Integration of Islamic Studies in the Tarbawi Context: Facilitating research that contextualizes Islamic sources (Tarbawi Tafsir, Tarbawi Hadith), contemporary Islamic thought, and socio-cultural dynamics into Islamic educational strategies and practices in modern society.
